Ha sido la portavoz nacional e internacional de su comunidad en su lucha contra las concesiones petroleras en el territorio de Sarayaku.<\/p>\n<p>Su oposici\u00f3n se ha visto respondida con una creciente violencia hacia la comunidad, a pesar de una sentencia favorable de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos en 2012, en la que ella particip\u00f3 activamente. Durante todos estos a\u00f1os, Patricia ha sido objeto de amenazas, acoso y criminalizaci\u00f3n de manera sistem\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>El 5 de enero de 2018, su casa en Puyo, Ecuador, fue atacada. Unos atacantes no identificados lanzaron piedras y rompieron ventanas, lo que caus\u00f3 importantes da\u00f1os en su casa. Patricia tambi\u00e9n fue objeto de amenazas de muerte verbales.
