Emerging Opportunities and Existing challenges in data collecting; a conversation and shared learning space for Indigenous organizations, Indigenous Human Rights Defenders, and human rights organizations

Event Details July 14, 2025 13:30 Geneva (Timezone) Overview of event Indigenous Peoples Rights International will host a side event at the 18th Session of EMRIP on July 14th from 13:30 – 14:30 pm to highlight the 2024 data trends report and present a summary report of the webinar from June 18th for the purpose of dissemination of understanding emerging opportunities and existing challenges. The event will include a brief presentation from IPRI’s Database and Documentation team on the reports and lead into a shared knowledge space that invites participants to share their own experiences in data and documentation. There will be 3 guiding questions that will be asked and space given for participants to share input. The responses will be recorded to further the knowledge capacity in the report.   The release of both IPRI 2024 data trends report and the summary report of webinar will inform attendees on the current cases that IPRI is supporting in both documenting and advocacy.  Hosting this event is critical to deepening the understanding of the realities on how other organizations and networks document criminalization and  human rights violation cases including; documenting, verifying, analysis, and dissemination and creating a space for networking and future collaboration. The event will include interpretation in English and Spanish.
